Fun in the Sun

Emily asks me every day if she can play outside in the sprinklers. Today was no different, but since their cousin, Mylee, was coming over I thought I would bust out the little swimming pool and let them have at it. Personally, if it were me playing in the water I don't think it was hot enough outside and the water surely wasn't warm enough, but you know how kids are, they don't seem to notice or care.

The 3 girls had a blast. They weren't hesitant at all about getting in the water. In fact, Emily dove right in like it was nothing.Emily jumping in.
Mylee giving it a go.Allie couldn't quite figure out the jumping into the pool part. It was more of a crawl. Cute none the less.Allie testing out the slide. The girls love this little pool. Squirting each other with the giraffe head.
Pretty sure Emily is enjoying it, maybe just a little bit.

The girls were out there for hours. They did not want to come inside. I was only able to get them out of the water with the promise that they would be able to play in it again soon. Looks like I know what we are doing tomorrow, and the next day and the next.

I Scream, You Scream.....

We all scream for ice cream! Emily's last day of preschool was today and we went on a field trip to Frosted Rock. We started off by talking about the ingredients they use to make the ice cream. They put all the ingredients, some flavoring and coloring in the machine and started to make some cotton candy ice cream.
We then watched them make waffle bowls and cones.
After they were done making a couple bowls and cones the ice cream was ready. It seriously only took 10 minutes to make the ice cream. Some day when I have tons of extra money I am getting me one of those ice cream makers!!
Finally the moment they had all been waiting for, the kids got to eat the ice cream that was made especially for them. Purple cotton candy ice cream with whatever mix-in they wanted.Seriously can it get any better? YUM YUM!! What an awesome field trip and what a great way to end the school year.

Happy Birthday, Runt!

Allie just turned 2. At times I am surprised that she is already 2, other times I am amazed that she is ONLY 2. She has been talking in complete sentences forever, can count to 20, she can recognize and tell you all the letters of the alphabet and just about has the sounds of each letter down.

Emily and Allie love to play dress up so I made Allie a cape for her birthday. She loves to wear it and fly around the house with it.
Super hero girls!
And since my girls love to help out in the kitchen I got Allie an apron that she could paint and then wear when she helped cook. Emily got one when she was younger and absolutely loves it so I figured Allie would love it too.
She had such a fun time painting it.The finished product.
Of course we had to put it to the test and bake some cookies.
Goofing off while we were waiting for the cookies.

Tyler's mom had her graduation for her PhD that night so we had a little party for Allie the day after her birthday.
Allie loves looking at Curious George books and loves monkeys so Emily decided that Allie should have a monkey cake for her birthday and I had to get creative and make it. It may look kind of scary but she loved it.

We spent the rest of the afternoon playing outside.
Here's Emily giving the washer toss game a go. I'm pretty sure you have to make that face and that stance when you are playing, it gives you some extra luck.
We had a great couple of days celebrating Allie's birthday. We are so glad that she is part of our family and love her spunky little attitude. Happy Birthday, Runt! We love you.
