Black Island Farms Field Trip

Emily's preschool class had a field trip to Black Island Farms today. We made it a bit of a family trip. They took us on a tractor ride around the farm and showed the kids the different plant they they grow. When we came to the pumpkin patch the kids were able to go and pick out a pumpkin that they wanted to take home.

Emily picked out one that was all lumpy.
Allie was very proud of the one she picked.
Our little family after picking our pumpkins.
There were a bunch of different activities that the kids could do while we were there.
The girls and Tyler enjoyed riding in these barrels pulled by a 4-wheeler.
Jumping in a giant inflatable pumpkin.
Emily and her friends from preschool enjoyed making trains and going down the slides.
Emily and Allie even enjoyed going down this steep slide together. This is about as good as pictures get with 3 crazy kids!! LOVE THEM!

What a fun day!! I'm glad that Tyler got home from his business trip in time to go with us. It was fun spending the day together.

LOTOJA 2009

My dad just completed his 4th LOTOJA this past weekend. 206 miles from Logan, UT to Jackson Hole Wyoming on a road bike. Do we think he is crazy? Yes. Do we still love supporting him? Yes! He raced in the Masters 35+ group and finished 18th out of 70 in 10hrs 2 mins. VERY VERY IMPRESSIVE!My dad!The kids did amazingly well sitting in the car for that long. Lots of sugar and movies helped in that department. Just as he crossed the finish line.Champion! Still able to smile after 206 miles. The amazing support crew! Look real close, I think Josh and Tyler are making the same face in this picture. My handsome little boy!

This is how we found the girls the next morning.

It was fun supporting my dad on his journey. We love road trips but they are a bit more difficult with children. We still had fun and my dad did great!

Labor Day Campout

Over the Labor Day weekend we went camping with my whole family. Everyone but Keely was there (she went to Cali with her friends). It rained on us a couple of times, nothing too terrible though. The kids had a blast playing together and getting dirty. The rest of us enjoyed playing cards and other games, going on hikes, sitting around the campfire telling stories. And one night that Stacy wasn't feeling so well and spent a lot of time in the bathroom we wrote a song for her. It was quite humorous.Emily looking all stylish up camping.
Heidi and Nate brought up a miniature ping pong net and paddles. The boys enjoyed playing a couple of rounds against each other. We spent one afternoon up at Tony Grove Lake. The kids loved playing together in the nice cold water. They were all soaking wet by the time we headed back to camp. While we were up at the lake we found a couple of snakes. My dad was holding one of them and Allie walked up to him with her hands out and asked "Grandpa, can I hold the snake?" So she did. She wasn't scared at all. All the other girls were though.
Josh was such a great little camper. He was so happy the whole time, he loves being outside.Josh enjoyed chillin' with Grandpa near the campfire.Allie was reading One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish out loud while a bunch of us played cards. It was so cute to hear her as she read her own version of the story.

Grandpa in the hammock with all the grandkids. We had 3 hammocks set up and the kids spent hours and hours playing together in them. They had so much fun.
What a great weekend we had together.

1st day of Preschool

Emily has been asking when she will start preschool again since May when she finished up with her 1st year of preschool. She has been looking forward to it so much. Well that day has finally come.Super excited to go.She didn't me to take any more pictures of her so she decided she was going to leave with or without me.

When we arrived at her preschool I helped undo her seat belt and she got out of the car. I started walking up with her when she turned to me and said "Mom, I can do it myself!" Are you serious? She is 4 can she do that?? Needless to say, she walked up by herself and I watched from the car.

Allie was very distraught when Emily and I left because she wanted to go to preschool too. Despite the fact that she would love it and knows her letters (upper and lower case) and the sounds they make better than most 4 year olds (she's not even 2 1/2 yet) I had to tell her she couldn't go. That made her even more mad. So I told her we could have preschool at home when Emily was at her preschool. So that is what we are going to do.

I am glad that my girls love learning, hopefully that will continue!

Hair Today. Gone Tomorrow.

I don't think I have really cut my hair since Allie was born. I have had it trimmed several times since then but never really taken any length off of it. Needless to say it was getting pretty long.

Well I decided it was time to chop it off. The fact that I just had a baby and my hair all falls out anyway helped make the decision a little easier. It isn't my mom's favorite thing when I chop my hair all off, which got me thinking a little. This time I figured I would do something that would benefit others. So I donated my hair to Locks of Love. 12 inches of hair. My sister-in-law, Ashlee, cut it for me.Before (Josh's blessing day)After
We ended up cutting about 13-14 inches off in the end. I think this is the shortest my hair has ever been, but hey it was for a good cause.

Stacy and Matt Get Hitched

Last Thursday Stacy and Matt got married. Wahoo! We are excited for the two of them and their little family. The fact that they owe Tyler and I a lifetime of brownies for setting them up doesn't hurt the excitement factor either.

I snapped a few quick pictures of my kiddos after the wedding.
Emily Allie is always cheesin' it up.Joshua was not the biggest fan of laying on the grass.

Josh is now 7 weeks old. He is starting to smile more. Unfortunately, he stops smiling as soon as I grab the camera.
This half smirk is the most he will do for the camera.
Emily and Allie love to lay on the floor with Josh and everytime they do they want me to take a picture of the 3 of them. They love him so much.
Emily loves to hold him and is such a big helper.
